How it works

The audit trail

Every event on a raise is recorded in a hash-chained audit trail: each entry carries a hash of the one before it, so the history is tamper-evident rather than merely stored. Document views, downloads, questions asked of the room and administrative actions all land there. The Audit trail screen shows the events with their kinds; the buttons above the list narrow it to Investors (each investor and everyone on their team) or Your team (the company and its advisors), and One person narrows it to a single person. The chain is the raise's evidence that things happened when and how the record says. The chain is re-checked every time the screen opens: a green chip means every event matched, and if any do not, a red notice says which event the break starts from. Treat the trail as disputed from that point and tell Struck through Send feedback.
