How it works
The company vault
The company's Documents screen is its vault: private to the company's own team, with each raise's shared dataroom one tile away. An advisor firm that set the company up is that team until it hands the company over, so it sees the vault until then and not after. The vault holds what outlives any one raise, and its ask box can answer questions from what is stored there. Documents shared with investors always go through a raise's dataroom, never straight from the vault. To update a document, use Upload new version from its menu or drop the new file onto it; Version history keeps every earlier version, openable and restorable, and a copy already added to a dataroom keeps the version it was given. Opening a document shows it as watermarked pages with the team's comments beside it: choose Add comment and click a spot on a page to start one, and type @ to bring a colleague in. Vault comments are the company's own; advisors and investors never see them.
