Advisor fees and commissions

Advisor fees come in four kinds: a round fee is a percentage of everything raised; a source fee applies only to money a particular advisor brought in and the company approved; an engagement fee is agreed for the raise itself; and a retainer is paid periodically whatever happens, so it has no total and isn't counted in the figures. The company reads its bill across every raise on the Commissions screen, and each advisor firm reads its own side of the same numbers under Earnings.
