How it works

Finding your way around

A company is the permanent home and each raise is one event inside it. The company's sidebar lists its raises under Fundraising by their own names, such as Series A, with the full name on hover. Inside a raise its pages open up under it in the sidebar, beneath Fundraising, with the company's own pages and its other raises still around it (an investor's deal opens up the same way under My deals). With the sidebar collapsed to icons it shows the raise's pages alone, with a Company group at the foot. The path at the top of each page, Company then Raise, goes to either one, and the arrows beside them switch to another company or raise and stay on the same page; on a phone the path sits at the top of the page itself. Every document has its own address: opening one puts it in the address bar, so Back closes it and leaves you where you were in the room or the company's documents, a refresh keeps it open, and the address can be sent to anyone who already has access to it. The arrows beside a document's name move to the previous or next document in its folder, and Download sits beside them wherever you may keep the file (the deal team any file, an investor a spreadsheet their group may download). Search (Command K, or Ctrl K on Windows) opens on the documents you opened most recently and finds pages, raises, companies, investors, questions and documents; a document opens straight in its room, with its raise and folder under its name. The company's Documents are its private files, each raise's shared files are in that raise's Dataroom, and an investor's own NDAs, agreements and certificates are under Your documents.
